FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • HOW DO I MAKE AN APPOINTMENT?
Please fill out the enquiry form and I will get back to you as soon as possible. I am usually booked up for 3 to 4 months in advance with Saturdays usually booked up 5 months in advance. For smaller tattoos, waiting times can be reduced and done at a shorter notice. It maybe recommended that you come in for a consultation to discuss your design, how much it will cost and also when we will be able to arrange an appointment to complete the tattoo.
  • WHY DO I NEED A CONSULTATION?
Consultations are an opportunity to meet and discuss your design. Please bring along image reference print-outs if you can (images on your phone are fine if not). From here I will be able to give you an indication of costs and availability. I do most of my consultations every other Thursday evening at Seven Doors Tattoo studio and you’re welcome to come along anytime between 6pm-6.45pm. If Thursdays don’t work for you, a morning time can be arranged.
  • HOW MUCH WILL MY TATTOO COST?
This depends on time, placement, size and detail. Minimum charge is £70 for smaller pieces. I charge an hourly rate for larger pieces which take over 3 hours, smaller pieces i can give you an estimated cost via email or at a consultation.Consultations are free of charge. I take a £50 deposit which will be taken off the price of the tattoo. All deposits are non-refundable and a 48-hour notice period is needed to reschedule. All tattoos must be paid for with cash.
  • WILL I SEE THE DESIGN BEFORE THE DAY OF MY TATTOO?
I do all my designs one to two days before the tattoo appointment. i can send you the design the day if requested. This still gives us plenty of time to make any amendments if necessary.
  • DO YOU DO COVER UPS?
Yes, I do occasionally do cover ups. However the style of my tattooing isn't great for them. The tattoos i do are quite open with soft dot work which doesn't cover well. i recommend you look into covering tattoos with artists who do heavy saturation of colour which works best.
  • WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT?
So the day of your tattoo is almost here. Although you don’t have to worry about preparing much for this, you should make sure you remember to do a few of the following things: Have a good breakfast. Getting a tattoo can be tiring! Eat well and make sure you have plenty of energy for the session. Avoid too much alcohol the night before. A heavy sesh will thin the blood as well as dehydrate and lower your energy levels. No need to worry about shaving the area of the tattoo, this will be done in the shop! If you would like to bring a friend you can usually bring one only. However, if the tattoo studio is unusually busy this might not be possible.
  • IMPORTANT TATTOO AFTERCARE STEPS:
Keep the tattoo wrapped up in the clingfilm provided until the next day In the morning remove clingfilm. Wash in the shower with warm soapy water (with non-perfumed and paraben free soap) and pat the tattoo dry with a clean towel After the tattooed area is dry, apply the aftercare. I make my own aftercare balm which i highly recommeded.(link to happy balm big cartel) Reapply the aftercare on the area every time it starts to feel dry for two weeks Don’t pick or scratch the healing tattoo or let people touch it for two weeks Avoid the following: Swimming pools, saunas, sun beds, jacuzzi, steam rooms, fake tan, In the future, use high-factor sun cream to keep your tattoo in the best condition and prevent fading Don’t hesitate to contact me using the details here.
